Port Stephens Learn to Surf deliver safe, fun and well structured surf tuition to people of all ages and fitness levels, beginners to advanced.
Safe softboards are used in all lessons helping you to progress through the beginner surfer stage. There is also a supply of warm short and full length wetsuits, sun protective rash-shirts, sunscreen and shade tents. All you need to bring is your swimmers, towel and camera.

Beginner Surf Lessons
All Beginner Surf Lessons are guided by Owner / Operators Luke and Mitch. Start off in waist deep water and they will help you every step of way!
This lesson includes:
Ocean awareness and surf safety
Reading surf conditions
Choosing the right equipment
Surf etiquette
Wiping out safely
Correct paddling technique
Catching white water waves
Correct standing technique
Safe entry and exit points

Intermediate Surf Lessons
So you’re starting to get the hang of it. This introduction to performance surfing will teach you how to get up on waves even before they break, how to link turns together and how to get out in rougher surf.
You will learn:
Basic fitness and warm-up stretches for surfing
Wave selection
Surfboard specifications
Duck diving
Positioning yourself in the line-up
Using rips and currents to your advantage
Taking the drop
Performance manoeuvres
All lessons are delivered by Professional Surfing Australia coaches giving you the very best instruction to help you enjoy surfing for years to come. Lessons are very informative, run for two hours and are great fun.
