Habitat Cruise - morning or afternonn

Sail quietly aboard a catamaran, into a mangrove lined estuary which is home to a rich array of wildlife including crocodiles, marine mammals, birds and fish.

The ‘Cat’ is designed for passenger comfort and premier wildlife viewing under sail power, and if you’re a novice sailor you can join in the sailing of the vessel. During daytime cruises, you’ll enjoy a fruit platter and a sausage sizzle and there may be time on the afternoon cruise for you to swim in the cargo net when conditions are right.

Darwin is one of the few cities in the world with a large area of undisturbed mangroves on its doorstep which provides a home for vulnerable dugongs and threatened Irrawaddy River Dolphins.

Lunch Cruise - Groups only

Sail Darwin Harbour aboard a spacious multi-hulled catamaran, on this thoroughly relaxing three hour cruise. Take in the sights of the Harbour while enjoying a sausage sizzle barbecue lunch and a glass of red or white wine.

You’ll visit an estuary creek crocodile trap, enjoy a swim on a sandbar or stretch out and relax on the catamaran’s trampoline.

Darwin Harbour is a tropical estuary, with a maximum tidal range up to eight metres covering approximately 450 square kilometres, including 23 square kilometres of inter-tidal mangrove and salt marsh communities.

Enjoy an eco sailing cruise to Bynoe Harbour Marine Park, a key destination for extended sailing safaris aboard EcoSafari, a luxury 12 metre SeaWind 1160 Sailing Catamaran. You may learn about Indigenous culture, tropical ecology and marine ecosystems.

Bynoe Harbour is home to a diverse range of relatively untouched marine and coastal habitats and contains some of the Northern Territory’s best quality reefs. It provides internationally significant habitats for many species of high conservation value, with a rich mixture of plants and animals. The main attraction is that it is home to the only known Northern Territory seagrass bed found west of Darwin, where dugong are often seen feeding and it supports 33 species of shore birds, 11 species of sea birds and 14 species of water bird. Bynoe Harbour is also the feeding ground for juvenile hawksbill and green turtles, and has sandy beach nesting sites for flatback turtles.
