The festival will include free horse and cart rides, activities for children, local history tours, a Quilt Expo, local art display with artists in residence, and Peter Goers from ABC Radio will co-host the weekend alongside the Out of the Blue television program.

An important part of the festival will be the crab catching competition that will run over a nine-week period, starting on 1 January and running until Monday, 8 March. There will be large cash prizes for mystery weight crabs, plus the overall heaviest crab caught, children’s prizes for under 15 years and grand prizes for the oyster shucking and crab peeling competitions.

There will be crab races for adults and children, local entertainment and the local oyster growers and charter companies will be offering harbour tours.

The Eyre Peninsula Farmers market will run on the Saturday, with the local Lions Club holding a market on the Sunday.
