The Gold Coast Multicultural Festival is aimed at uniting the many diverse cultures that co-exist on the Gold Coast, and to provide a day of 'Fun and Diversity' that all Families can enjoy. Activities are expected to include: Arts and Craft displays, Food Stalls - International Food Festival, International Music, Dance and other Entertainment. Poetry and Reading (Story telling), Multicultural Information and Films, Promotional and Community Stalls, Art and Craft Stalls, Interactive Workshops - Children’s Games and Activities With more than one-in-four Gold Coast residents born overseas, the Festival
provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase the many diverse cultures present on the Gold Coast.

30 Food, Cultural, Craft and Information Stallholders will be represented. Music and Dance performances from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds are expected to entertain the crowds. Weather permitting, attendance should exceed 12000 to15000. Gold Coast Mayor Ron Clarke Order Australian Medal will open the 2009 Gold Coast Multicultural Festival.
