Verdi’s La Traviata is a timeless story of a father who disapproves of his son Alfredo choice of lover, Violetta, who are living together in a liaison in a peaceful country house outside Paris. After Violetta receives an invitation to a party in Paris, Alfredo’s father Germont, is announced. Germont puts Violetta under pressure to break up her relationship with Alfredo, for the sake of his family, as her relationship with Alfredo threatens his daughter’s engagement. Violetta ends her relationship with Alfredo and returns to Paris.

Alfredo confronts Violetta at the party where he humiliates and denounces her. Later Violetta reads a letter sent by Germont, advising her that he has informed Alfredo of the sacrifice she made for both Alfredo and his sister and that he is sending Alfredo to see her as quickly as possible to ask for her forgiveness, but is it to late for Violetta and Alfredo.
