Bombala Australia Day Celebrations are run in conjunction with the Monaro Wool and Wood Festival and Lavender Festival. It is a huge day of celebrations including wood chopping and chainsaw events, wood carving, photographic competition, shearing competition and demonstrations including the NSW Strong Wool Championships, lavender displays including distilling and information sessions, craft displays, raffles, market stalls and poetry recitals.

This is an excellent family day outing which celebrates the rural lifestyle. The main feature of the day is the awarding of the Citizen and Junior Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year.
