The Hervey Bay Whale Festival celebrates the arrival of the whales into the bay each year, starting with the Blessing of the Fleet at the Marina at Urangan on Saturday 1 August. As the sun sets priests perform the traditional blessing to officially launch the whale watching season. Their magnificent whale watch vessels in Hervey Bay will then proceed into the Marina.
