Description

In 2010 the ABC Amateur Race Club, Australia's best kept outback secret, celebrates 100 years.

The races are held in June every year, on Brunette Downs, situated on the Barkly Tablelands, 350 kilometres north-east of Tennant Creek. This is the biggest event on the Barkly Tablelands social calendar and attracts visitors from all around Australia.

You’ll enjoy four days of country hospitality featuring campdrafting, bronco branding, rodeo, gymkhana and novelty races such as the ‘Best of the Barkly’ event. There is a total AUD30,000.00 in prize money on offer and only those horses within the boundary of the Northern Territory can compete.

There is an on-course bookmaker, bar, catering and live entertainment, visitors can even fly in to the nearby airstrip.
