Beaton's Rockhole and Gorge are located four kilometres from town. Visitors eager to fossick for gold and precious stones can try their luck. Fossickers have found agate, asbestos, antimony, beryl, chalcedony, jade, jasper, manganese, tiger eye and wolfram in the area.

Some excellent gorge scenery exists in the Nullagine area.
